Course history

Created to inspire and enable participants to implement the award winning Spark of Life Approach in their own aged care facilities, the international Spark of Life Master Practitioner course was launched in Perth, WA in March 2010.

International health care leaders attended from around the world, including Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Germany, and Denmark. This unique experience built strong and genuine relationships between participants. High level discussions of culture change were facilitated with participants, who shared their own diverse expertise and experiences. The Spark of Life Concept provided a universal approach that is relevant across boundaries of cultures, languages and professions.

Here is some of what our 2010 Master Practitioners had to say about the course:

'It has been a totally inspiring three weeks and I am so excited about empowering my staff in further implementation of the Spark of Life. This has been the most amazing and profound experience.' ~ Barbara Falconer, Director/Manager, Malio House, Matamata New Zealand.

'This [course] is life changing! It is a great philosophy and will change the way we care for all who live in care.'  ~ Deb Schick, Operations Leader, Sherbrooke Community Centre, Saskatoon Canada.

'The course was of great value to me. It was completely unique in its style of learning and positive, supportive atmosphere. The information was expansive, the experiential learning very effective, and I will never forget it because of these qualities.' ~ Jan Clark, Executive Care Manager, Maurice Zeffert.
