Dementia Care Australia
(DCA) is an independent information and education organisation specialising in
supporting both people with dementia and their carers; be they family members,
professional carers, employers or friends.
Company Profile
DCA has grown to
become an internationally recognised authority on the social and emotional care
of people with dementia. With its unique methods, products and services, DCA's
mission is to attract, inspire and enable like minds and hearts to ignite the Spark of Life in people with
dementia and those who care for them by growing the Spark of Life Culture in
their facilities and homes.
For over 15 years, DCA has been involved in the professional
development of Aged Care Facility staff through on-site training,
presentations, and
membership. Aimed
at supporting and nurturing an organisation, DCA is able to provide unprecedented access to a wide range
of features, resources, and specialised advice.
Through the Spark of Life Approach, DCA also aims to
empower home
carers and families whose lives have been touched by dementia. Through
public
presentations, private consultations and membership, DCA provides an
avenue for carers to decrease isolation and establish built-in support
networks to help them and the person with
dementia.
The Spark of Life is a unique, systematic approach to dementia that
re-ignites the spark and creates overall wellbeing and improvement. The spark
represents the wellbeing of the human spirit, seen as a sparkle in the eyes of
a person whose spirit is healthy and strong.
